The Concept Album was originally conceived in the spring and summer of 1983. Much of the music for that album was composed in 1983, although not many of the songs were actually finished at that time. The talkover is performed by George's Dad, Peter. The beginning was supposed to be the sound of someone walking along a busy promenade onto a beach and then starting to strum an acoustic guitar. George attempted to record this at the Sidmouth International Folk Festival. Unfortunately it was a bit busy and he collided with a couple of other festivalgoers, which put the guitar out of tune. When he sat on a rock and played the first C-chord, it sounded hideous. It was very funny, albeit not particularly successful. The #113 comes from the song being the 113th song in George's chronological list.
