The Warning by George. From Volume VII Side B of the Band of Georges. Music and lyrics by G. Davies. Composed 20th September 1986. Recorded November 1987. Mixed November 1987. Lifted from cassette June 2025. Copyright © 1986 Explicit Music. Copyright ℗ 2025 Wud Records. Fun Facts: This was one of three songs that George wrote on the same day. The Warning was performed many times live by Rough Terrain. It appears on their Howell Road Demo and their Exit Stage Deaf compilation. The Warning was inspired by living in england during the cold war. It starts on a Bbmaj13 (6X7788) and the first section is quite proggy and melodic. When the band kicks in, the song has morphed to the key of A. Digital delay accompanied by a strobe light and a dry ice machine made this song kick. The Rough Terrain recording featured a wonderful Roland synth that belonged to Freda.
