Baptism Weekend: What Is Baptism? | Keith Golightly
from Grace Church Southern Pines · host Grace Church Southern Pines
There is a lot to be said about Water Baptism, as well as a lot of thoughts and understandings of what Baptism really is and what the bible teaches us about it. What we confidently know is that baptism is not something we do as Christ followers because it's the "church thing to do", or because it's a formality in our walks with God. We also don't do it as a means of repentance or to gain salvation. That work must be done in the heart first. In its final analysis, Baptism is simply the outward declaration of an inward transformation. It is the proper and biblical response to the change in character that is initiated by real repentance, and developed by enduring obedience to Jesus. We receive baptism to receive the outward mark of sanctification, but more importantly, because we as His people are in love with Him.You can find this weeks sermon notes and groups guide here: https://gracechurchsp.org/groupsguide/If you're ready to begin a relationship with Jesus, click here: https://www.gracechurchsp.org/jesusTo support this ministry and help us continue to reach people all around the world click here: http://www.gracechurchsp.org/giveFill the city with Jesus.
