Barbara is a historian and retired educator. She provides tools to inspire, entertain, and educate the youth. She believes that history is the key to solving today's problems. As a child, Barbara was determined to get to the bottom of things. This led her to a career in education where she taught young kids and special ed kids. On this episode, she shares her journey to becoming a writer of her ongoing series Little Miss HISTORY Travels to. She encourages parents to encourage their child's curiosity by encouraging them to wonder. And she encourages everyone to explore their passions, no matter how insignificant they think they are. Retirement has brought with it the opportunity to return to her love of history. She wrote “Forest Park, Queens, Past, Present and Future” for The Municipal Engineers Journal in 2001. Barbara currently writes historical articles under her banner “Passages” for The Columbia Insider and is writing her own award-winning children’s book series Little Miss HISTORY Travels to.
