Barb’s Journey from Child Loss to Brain Cancer and Pregnancy at 57

from Over 40 Fabulous and Pregnant · host Jamie Massey

057. This is a special episode because it’s not just a pregnancy story. This is an overview of  Barb’s “a 1,000 tiny steps” to her pregnancy. Barb was a scholarship runner at BU in the eighties and ran for Nike for several years. Barb never planned to have children. She had a pretty rough childhood, so, she wanted to end the cycle of abuse in her family. She didn’t need to be a mother, she was happy being the cool auntie. Instead, she became pregnant but lost her son, Gordy at 25-weeks. It wasn’t until afterwards that she knew she wanted to become a mother. She has been a competitive runner, teacher, coach, mom, and now she’s a CrossFit athlete. She is also a survivor of some pretty tragic things: losing two children in very different circumstances and brain cancer during her journey to her fourth child. Barb has four children, two live in heaven, and two are here with her. Join us on this special episode as she shares her IVF journey to the birth of her son at 57. Resources: Join the community waitlist! Over 40 Fabulous and Pregnant on InstagramBarb on InstagramHuman Milk for Human BabiesBarb’s Podcast: A Thousand Tiny Steps Barb’s Book: MotherlandMolly B FoundationShop the Show 🛍️ To browse every product recommended by our host and guests, visit:  https://over40fabulousandpregnant.com/shop/ (Note: We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you—it helps keep the episodes coming!)Support the Pod ❤️ If you enjoy our content and want to help us stay independent, you can donate to the show here: https://over40fabulousandpregnant.com/donate/
