This region lies directly between the major descending blood flow from the vertebral arteries above and the ascending supply from the artery of Adamkiewicz below. — Correct: The mid-thoracic cord is the conventional watershed region and the rest of that sentence is right, but T4 through T8 is one commonly taught approximation, not an established boundary. The anatomical work behind it is observational and variable: origins, segmental reinforcement and collateral adequacy differ between individuals, and no study fixes the watershed at those two levels. Learn it as the mid-thoracic cord, receiving the fewest segmental reinforcements, with no exact boundary and no first-to-infarct ranking established, and remember that a sensory level alone cannot identify the culprit vessel.
