Una ventina di partecipanti, contributi di alto livello e tre riconoscimenti vinti dei sei messi in palio dagli organizzatori: è la fotografia della delegazione del nostro paese all'ultima edizione del congresso di contattologia che si è tenuta dal 5 al 7 giugno a Birmingham, in Gran BretagnaAntonio Calossi (nella foto sotto, a sinistra) e Marco Tovaglia (nella foto sotto, a destra) hanno conquistato rispettivamente il primo e secondo posto nella Photo Competition alla Bcla-Clinical Conference & Exhibition 2025. Terza piazza invece alla Poster Competition per Fabrizio Zeri.​ ​«Fra i keynote speaker con relazione in plenaria, Calossi ha parlato di controllo della progressione miopica e Zeri di presbiopia», dice a b2eyes TODAY Laura Boccardo, direttrice dell’Irsoo di Vinci, che ha presentato uno studio scientifico sulle simulazioni di lenti Rgp, realizzato in collaborazione con l’Università di Firenze, di prossima pubblicazione sulla rivista Contact Lens & Anterior Eye.Fra i poster, inoltre, sei contributi avevano autori italiani. A sua volta lo stesso Calossi ha anche tenuto un workshop sull’ortocheratologia, cogestito insieme a Jaume Pauné, mentre Charles Di Benedetto ha superato l’esame di fellowship.Secondo Boccardo, le giornate di lavoro a Birmingham sono state «non solo utili per l’aggiornamento dei contenuti didattici della nostra scuola, ma anche ricche di soddisfazioni e produttive in termini di visibilità e contatti per tutti i professionisti che vi hanno partecipato - afferma la direttrice dell’Irsoo - Bcla si conferma così uno dei più importanti eventi a livello europeo per l’aggiornamento in ambito contattologico».
