BDP039: Xylitol Toxicity in Dogs - The Poison in Your Pantry

from The Buzby Dog Podcast

Xylitol may not be a name you recognize, but after this episode you'll be surprised how often you see it. Discovered in 1891, Xylitol is used often as a sweetener, even today. Dr. Buzby details many of the places in your pantry and in your home you'll find this chemical, why it's so imperative to keep it away from dogs, and how to see the signs that your dog has been exposed. Dr. Buzby feels so strongly about the dangers of Xylitol, she invited Dr. Jessica Taylor to share her experiences. Dr. Taylor is a graduate of NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. She is currently practicing in North Carolina and has a passion for client communication and preventative care. In her free moments, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 daughters, running and reading. She shares her home with the laziest hound dog on earth and a tyrant of a cat.
