BDP053: The Value of a Veterinary Nurse with Kenichiro Yagi

from The Buzby Dog Podcast

Who are your dog's veterinary technicians and just what do they do? In this episode, Dr. Buzby is joined by Ken Yagi, a speaker, educator, and activist for veterinary technicians and the Veterinary Nurse Initiative to answer these questions. Over his 18 years in practice, Ken has discovered and refined his role as a veterinary technician by promoting compassionate and progressive care for patients and their families. With a Master's in Veterinary Science and Veterinary Technician Specialist certification in Emergency and Critical Care as well as Small Animal Internal Medicine, Ken is currently the ICU manager and blood bank manager at Adobe Animal Hospital and is the program director for the RECOVER CPR Initiative. Not only does this episode provide a better understanding of the future of veterinary technicians, but Ken shares the impact the Adobe Animal Hospital's blood bank has had on their patients and how blood products could save your dog's life.
