Becoming Tea

from Someday Farm · host ShhDragon

A Guided Meditation, shaped by the ritual of steeping tea and the quiet covenant of morning clarity. Music Cue: Cue Becoming Tea a Guided Meditation for Morning Clarity Begin seated, spine held gently upright, hands resting with your newly warmed teacup. The Sun is low. The tea is steeping. You are steeping. Let your gaze soften... Breathe slowly... Your lowered gaze is now resting on the heated water’s surface. The tea leaves - dry, brittle - begin closed, perhaps tightly closed. They do not rush to open. They only slowly uncurl. Continue to keenly observe the tea leaves - only ever slowly uncurling... they know not hurry. they do not resist the water’s invitations. they bathe in warmth, they soften. they open. they relax... they release... you release... Breathe in. The tea’s aroma rises - subtle, Earthen, pleasing. Let it quietly enter you. It flows in, without insistence, warmly welcomed... Feel the presence of essence within. Let it remind you that essence is released not by force, but by warmth. You breathe in again, slower now - more fully, more easily. Warm, deep. Familiar, welcome. The presence of essence, within. With each breath, feel yourself warming. Like the warmed water in the teacup, you hold space for transformation. Feel your own warmth and know that: you are held, like water in the teacup. you do not stir. you settle. And in settling, you become clear. Clarity is yours... Notice how the tea does not grasp at its purpose. it simply becomes. it does not perform. it simply releases what it holds. it infuses the moment. Resolve now: To be like the tea. to open slowly. to release what is held. to release essence. to warm those you meet. to settle without stirring. to become clear. The teaware is Earthen. it holds. it serves. You are of this Earth. you hold. you serve. Let this be your covenant with the day ahead - Not to conquer it, but to steep in it. to infuse it with presence to be infused with its presence to be pleasing in scent, quiet in strength, and whole in simplicity. The moon still hangs in the morning sky. it watches, as you do. it does not chase the Sun. it simply yields to the newly rising, warming Sun. You sit. You steep. You become. When you are ready, lift the tea cup. Sip with reverence. You have steeped. You have remembered clarity. You have drank of essence. You have been soaked in essence. You are ready! You are not finished. You are only now beginning... Thank you. This is a public episode.
