That afternoon, Alysha was sitting in a car outside a convenience store in north Charlotte while someone stepped inside. Moments later, three people approached the vehicle. Investigators later said the encounter appeared to be an attempted robbery. Gunfire erupted in the parking lot, and Alysha was shot multiple times.
