That's an hour of outertransnational tunes featuring bongos, marimba, handclaps, bells and maybe even tennis balls. Drumsticks will fly outta the window and be replaced with flailing hands on congas, tablas and donkey skulls in an attempt to give our listeners PERCUSSION CONCUSSION. On our ‘Island” section this evening we will be going the rest of the world in having a bit of a listen to them polka dotted microtonal surf-demons, Angine De Poitrine, a combo seemingly created in a laboratory with the sole purpose of appearing on Begilufin. Each show revolves around a central theme and then we surprise each other (and you, dear listener) with our selections live on air. Since you ask, ‘Begilufin’ is a Hebrew word meaning intoxicated, inebriated, drunk, sozzled or smashed - a perfect description of the delirious off-centre mix of crazed music we like to spin on the show or indeed the effect it might have on your ears. Begilufin was created by Ziv Lode in 2010.
