In today's society, I see a lot of moments where people are expecting a behavior or an experience to come from someone else before it comes from them selves. This is specifically challenging when it comes to couples therapy. If you don't have anything to give or any energy or any willingness to do the thing you're requesting from your partner it doesn't make a lot of sense than asking of them to do what you are unwilling to do also.
