Belerion | The Shining Land

from Pods from the Far Beyond · host Palden Jenkins

The Shining Land and how and why it shines. Belerion is the ancient name of West Penwith in Cornwall. In Penwith we have more ancient sites per square mile than anywhere in Europe. This is the first part of a talk given at the Aha Class with Palden, on 18th December 2024 in Penzance, Cornwall. I propose that the whole of West Penwith is one big ancient site (an enormous cliff sanctuary). Why did ancient Penwithians bother to build so many quoits, stone circles and cairns? What was their thinking and what were they seeking to achieve? In this hour-long talk I go into the sacred technology of Neolithic and Bronze Age Penwithians, and what drove them to build ancient sites.
