I'm an historian who is deeply interested in prehistory, and I have an historian's viewpoint, looking at longer-term processes at work over time. Over the last fifteen years I have done a lot of research in West Penwith, Cornwall, where I live, and here are a few new thoughts on that matter.By examining its alignments system I was able to demonstrate that Penwith constituted a complete, integrated and focused magical landscape, an upgraded ecosystem and a cultured people, who were at their peak in the Bronze Age.This is about the transition from a matrifocal to a patriarchal culture, incrementally taking place during the Bronze Age.Now a peripheral place, in that time Penwith was a central place because long-distance travel took place by sea and river - the land was extensively wooded and tracks were muddy. Penwith lay on an ancient maritime trading and cultural corridor stretching from Iberia to Britain and Ireland, so boats came from Europe every summer, landing at St Michael's Mount.This pod is about the social and psycho-spiritual changes that went on through the 1,200 years of the megalithic part of the Bronze Age. It was a sustainable culture, eventually overtaken by events.An enchantment, uplifting the land and people, was shattered. The megalithic period came to an end, around 1200 BCE. This is all about the energy-fields within ancient sites such as stone circles or chambered cairns and barrows. For these energy-fields have a psychoactive effect - they change our mood, optic and spirits - and it isn't difficult to experience this.And this, I suggest, is what draws us to them. Places such as Iran may seem a long way away, but it is on the same planet as we, and crises happening elsewhere are very much a part of our own lives.On the inner planes there is no distance at all - only the psycho-social distance, the uncloseness that we create ourselves. Those people over there are just like us.So this is about world work. There is lightworking - working with light beings to bathe our planet in healing vibes - and there is world work, which is about getting inside critical situations to work more surgically, bringing whatever is needed to a situation to help it resolve itself constructively.I've done quite a lot of this over the years, in groups large and small, and on my own. In this talk I share experiences of what can happen when we apply ourselves to this kind of thing.If you are vexed by events unfolding around the world, this is one way to be involved. Ever thought of flying alongside a missile and tipping it so that it lands in a harmless place? Ever thought of ministering empathically to the needs of souls devastated by floods or bombing? Or standing alongside a mother who has just watched her family die?Ever thought of sitting alongside a fighter to try to understand what drives him and how he feels about life? And then to witness a woman fighter (Kurdish or Burmese, perhaps) and what drives her?In retrospect this is one of the most meaningful activities of all that I've done in my life. You can do it wherever you are. This is one of the key things I do during the Sunday meditations - working consistently and regularly with the issues of the time. I've learned so much from beavering away at this. Paradoxically, since becoming semi-disabled as a result of cancer, I've got better at it - as physical capacities have declined, inner capacities seem to have grown.I'm reminded of George Harrison's song, 'The Inner Light', adapted from the teachings of Lao Tzu. Sooner or later, it hits us - old age.For people of my generation this can be a shock - we weren't prepared for this. You get creaky. You can't handle things you used to be able to do. Gravity gets heavier, bodily frailties set in, people forget you and doctors start taking over your life.But there's something special about this last stage of life - it's a chance to complete the story of our lives and bring things to some sort of conclusion. If we ignore this, there can be quite a lot of baggage to carry into the afterlife.This is about the deepest and potentially the richest time of our life-cycle, when we can advance psycho-spiritually in ways that, earlier in life, we used to pay large amounts for, going on courses and retreats and doing snazzy practices.I can't chop logs and climb hills like I used to, but another mobility has arisen instead, deep down inside. These are not just the enormous challenges in our ecosystem and with the human condition that we see before us. There's more.We're heading for a time when as a planetary race we must face the fact that we are not alone. This is a short talk I gave recently in Penzance, Cornwall, during a Palestine-support event. Many of us get caught up in the big issues, often concerning our own countries' politics and inadvertently forgetting actual Palestinians in places like Gaza - and the politics is a nightmare that's going nowhere anytime soon.Here I talk about making friends with an actual Gazan, taking a person-to-person approach. It can have a bigger effect that you might at first imagine. I've been working with a village of Tuareg for ten years, in a small people-sized support operation. They live in the Sahara desert, a day away from the historic city of Timbuktu in Mali, out in the vastness.We restocked their goats and camels after a terrible drought, helped them dig a new well and build a small village school.But now I need to pull out - I can't continue with things I used to be able to do. The ancients worked with a kind of consciousness technology, and they designed their sacred sites for this purpose.They located them carefully, building them over underground water and energy-vortices, orienting them to the rising and setting points of the sun and moon, constructing them to reflect and embody the fundamental principles of the universe.They did this to create spaces - crucibles - in which to go into altered states of consciousness. Here they could generate reality-fields that enabled them to reach into things and fix them from the inside.They lived in a very different world to ours, with no need to build cities or empires since they were advanced in a completely different way. Following on from Inner Doctors, this is about a related issue, a pathway, a way of processing, a way of answering questions and solving problems.Sometimes, with a wry twist, I call it intwitting - this is etymologically rooted in the Germanic word Wit, meaning intelligence or awareness.A cultural bias in our modern world tends to regard intuitives as twits, as somehow weak, foolish and irrational, and this is unwise.Many great inventors, entrepreneurs and even computer programmers are intuitive, whether intentionally or not. Eureka moments are big moments in history, even if many remain unrecorded.We've had our intuition and instincts trained out of us by religion and education, particularly through doubt and fear, and nowadays not least by mobile phones.In this podcast I tell a few tales about how intuition works for me, how I deal with it, and its ins and outs.

This concerns people and power. We're faced with a big question: how to balance effective governance with popular participation. Occasionally people mass in the streets or online, swaying unpredictably between the wisdom of the majority and the madness of crowds. A kind of democratisation and dispersal of power is re-shaping political process, causing authoritarian regimes to become more responsive to their publics and democracies to become more confused by them. Let me introduce you to a soul-friend, Ibrahim Issa, director of the Hope Flowers School and Centre in Bethlehem, Palestine. I worked at this school for some years, helping them with outreach and hassle-busting.His talk is about the school and its world-leading work in dealing with war-trauma, peace-building and the reconstruction of communities.Palestinians have experience in this that few other nations have, since their war experiences have stretched over 70-100 years. The school now trains teachers from all over the West Bank in trauma-recovery and front-line handling of the social consequences of conflict.Ibrahim also talks about the situation today in the West Bank - very different from that of Gaza, but equally painful and destructive. This is mainly for my generational peers - if you're in your 70s, 80s or 90s, your bones are getting creaky and your mind is getting sluggish.In the life-cycle we're given, we grow up and later we grow down. Some days I have days where inspiration-levels droop, so I rattle off a podcast or a blog, if I can muster up a gem to start with - a starting thought. It's a way of getting inspiration-channels moving, and sometimes something good comes out. Not always - I have quite a few rejects.A few days ago I was feeling a bit like that - cancer drugs were affecting me, I'd been on my own too much, it was raining and foggy, and I was casting around for a spark to give me some ignition. Oldies sometimes need a bit of that - ignition.It has been one of my pathologies in life - an ability to ignite people and things, providing a spark that sets things in motion. I'm one of those who has got his fingers in various pies over the decades. Some of these spark-moments I hear about or see the results of, often years later, and some I hope have happened anyway, somewhere, sometime, whether or not Schroeder's Cat was watching, and unbeknownst to me. I'm happy about that. It has been a privilege to participate in people's lives in that way.I'm still at it. Except nowadays I'm doddering around like an old fogey on sticks, wondering when the next seat is likely to appear. I go at about one-third of the pace of most people. So at times I have to work at finding a spark to ignite the old creativity-plugs. This is about that.With love, Palden.

I've been a member of the Honourable Company of Cancer Patients for over five years now and, amazingly, I'm still alive, and against the odds. I have a blood cancer, Multiple Myeloma, and I didn't expect to live this long.I waded through the tough grind of chemotherapy and dealing with physical disablement. I went down, nearly fell through the cracks, and found myself emerging from a dark tunnel around three years ago.I found myself starting a new life - well, kind of. I have no idea how long I am to live - it could be next month or five years. But I found a reason to be alive.This is for cancer patients and people with serious or terminal illnesses. There are plenty of interesting geomantic snippets in this talk, though it's mainly a proposal for a longterm research project into the subtle-energy patterns and behaviours of ancient sites in West Penwith in Cornwall. Penwith is dense with ancient sites and it's a nice potted area for research like this - and there are quite a few prehistory maniacs living here, to do such work. Though this is primarily addressed to people in Penwith, this proposed project could be of interest to people elsewhere. I hope it sparks some thoughts and initiatives in the coming time. If we're working with subtle earth energies, we need to get to know how they work, by systematically studying the way they actually operate - and from a psychic-intuitive, geomantic viewpoint. The Shining Land and how and why it shines. Belerion is the ancient name of West Penwith in Cornwall. In Penwith we have more ancient sites per square mile than anywhere in Europe. This is the first part of a talk given at the Aha Class with Palden, on 18th December 2024 in Penzance, Cornwall. I propose that the whole of West Penwith is one big ancient site (an enormous cliff sanctuary). Why did ancient Penwithians bother to build so many quoits, stone circles and cairns? What was their thinking and what were they seeking to achieve? In this hour-long talk I go into the sacred technology of Neolithic and Bronze Age Penwithians, and what drove them to build ancient sites.

A few things I learned from the Council of Nine. This is about extraterrestrial civilisations and their relations with planet Earth, and what we on Earth need to do, as a planetary race, to prepare ourselves for meeting up with them, sometime in the future. That's the first half, and in the second half we look into some interesting questions about ancient sites, collective resonance, our soul-roots in other worlds and... dragonflies.

I have had various kinds of contact with ETs over time, and they're part of my spiritual genetics.
