“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” — Hebrews 11:1 In this teaching, we walk through Hebrews 11:1–20 and look at the faith of Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, and Jacob. These were not perfect people, but they believed God. They obeyed when they could not see the full picture. They trusted His promises even when the fulfillment seemed impossible. Faith is not pretending life is easy. Faith is not blind optimism. Faith is trusting the God who speaks, leads, promises, corrects, and keeps His Word. From Abel’s offering to Noah building the ark, from Abraham leaving his homeland to Sarah receiving strength to conceive, Hebrews 11 reminds us that real faith moves. Real faith obeys. Real faith looks beyond this world and holds onto the promises of God. This chapter challenges us with one simple question: Are we living by what we see, or by what God has said?
