Beneath the Peak: Mount Shasta’s Underground Cities, UFOs, Abductions, and The Occult

Beneath the white crown of Mount Shasta, legend says an ancient world still glows: Telos, the hidden city of light. Some call it the refuge of Lemuria, others a gateway to Agartha or an Ascended-Master temple sealed in volcanic stone. Whether you’re into UFO sightings, New Age movements, or lost-civilization myths, Shasta has it all. From 19th-century Theosophists and the 1930s “I AM Activity” to modern Netflix documentaries and vortex-tour influencers, the mountain has morphed into America’s strangest crossroads of faith, folklore, and conspiracy. Hosts David and Jay Green trace how spiritual seekers, cult leaders, and UFO believers all found the same sacred peak and gave it a thousand meanings—Lemurian survivors, underground tunnels, Saint Germain, robot grandmas, Bigfoot guardians, even government labs buried in the ice. Why does one volcano keep attracting every story about hidden knowledge and cosmic contact? What makes people disappear there? And what does it reveal about humanity’s need to believe that something extraordinary waits just beneath the surface? If you love shows like The Why Files, Astonishing Legends, or Stuff They Don’t Want You to Know, this is your kind of episode—an hour of high-strangeness, history, and skeptical wonder.
