Bessie House and Faces and Voices of Recovery

from Jaws of Justice Radio · host KKFI Community Podcasts

This edition of Jaws of Justice Radio introduces two new volunteers Cassandra Mitchell and Liz Henry. Cassandra and Liz are active in the alcohol and drug recovery community and want to help get information out and get the voice of those that are recovering into the public debate. On this edition of Jaws of Justice Radio Cassandra and Liz bring in a guest from Faces and Voices of Recovery, a program that used the voices and stories of the recovering addict to inform the public of the need for treatment as an individual and as public policy. Faces and Voices of Recovery is a national coalition of organizations that has developed a recovery message - language that can be used to talk about recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs, when speaking and writing as a person in recovery, a family member or friend.
