BILAL MESHANNI, Rutgers, '22, Visual & Broadcast Journalist & (folk music)

Bilal Meshanni is a multimedia journalist and broadcast specialist who is pursuing a double major in Journalism and Video Production at Rutgers University-Newark. Kickstarting his media career at the young age of 16, Bilal began travelling the country producing live broadcast productions for multiple organizations, reaching viewerships in the thousands. By combining his media skills with his passion for storytelling, Bilal shifted his aim to becoming a journalist. Bilal's work as a journalist has included interviewing and photographing members of lobbyist groups and Fortune 500 companies to interviewing Presidential candidates on the campaign trail in the most recent election. Bilal's main interests in journalism lie in the realm of politics and social equity, which he tries to highlight throughout his pieces. In addition to his work as a journalist, Bilal is a professional photographer, videographer, and FAA licensed drone operator who does work in the Public Relations and Marketing industries. In the future, Bilal hopes to make a career in producing broadcast news programs for the public.
