Un 13 de abril de 1943 nacía en Providence, Rhode Island. Bill Conti. Compositor estadounidense de música de cine de origen italiano, comenzó a los 7 años en el piano, estudiando posteriormente en la Louisiana State University y en la Juilliard School of Music. El debut lo realizó con la dirección musical de Blum in love. Ha sido el director musical de las ceremonias de entrega de los oscars durante muchos años. Principalmente es recordado por el tema principal de la película Rocky y por los temas de varias series de televisión de las más importantes de los años 80. Es en 1983 cuando es nominado al oscar, su única nominación, ganándolo con Elegidos para la gloria, siendo polémico el premio ya que la composición tiene un gran parecido a la obra Los Planetas de Gustav Holst.
