LSU's twelve points a game is the most-quoted number of the week and the least examined. The Tigers beat Clemson 51-10 and Louisiana Tech 45-14. Clemson then scored a single touchdown against Georgia Southern in a 22-7 win. Bill Flowers extends the point in the direction nobody wants to go: we don't know how good Ole Miss's defense is either. But Ole Miss has already been punched in the mouth this season, and that is information LSU does not yet have about itself.2. The blueprint is inverted from what you'd expect. Flowers does not say establish the run and then take your shots.
