from Binge Buddies Hosted by Bryan Dressel

Neon Bloodbath: Neck Braces Required (Tokyo Vampire Hotel – Episode 2) Hope you packed your neck braces, because the Binge Buddies are experiencing some serious story whiplash this week! Continuing our dive into the neon-soaked madness of Tokyo Vampire Hotel, Episode 2 hits the brakes on the present-day carnage to throw us straight into the past. Before the opening title card even has a chance to hit the screen, we are hurled into a massive, 20-minute flashback that completely flips the script. We're digging into the bloody origins of the Corvin and Dracula clan war and getting a heavy dose of K's backstory. Join Bryan, Matt, Ryan, and Joel as they navigate this jarring narrative detour, unpack the deep-cut vampire lore director Sion Sono is building, and discuss whether that giant prologue actually pays off. The blood is still flowing, but the lore just got a whole lot thicker! So it's just dawned on me as I'm watching this intro now for the second episode, that we do have people that don't watch our YouTube clips, and they only listen to it whenever I get around to uploading these to Spotify, and for those folks, this intro has to be really fucking weird as they click play, and they just hear a poor woman screaming. For like 30 seconds. Yeah, then Alex and then Alex and Adari around, when they come in and go, do you think hers at the end? When I signed off on this intro, as being amazing, as John's always are, I did not think about those poor folks, and I'm not doing anything to fix that.

I just, you know, I want to acknowledge you that if you are watching this, or listening to this on your way to where going, what the fuck? You're not wrong. But also, I'm not concerned about the people who listen to it in the gym or something, and like it's the next podcast in line, and immediately like they're mid, they're mid sort of like bicep curl or something, and they're also just like screaming in their ears, and they're like, ah, drop the weights down, and they land on the feet, so it's like, ah, ah, ah, also, I'm not sorry. Thank you, Joel, give us honest.

He's probably wrong for him. You know, it's like when you hear police irons in a song, you know, he's just, be all good. Yeah, but I have to imagine having a little bit of an odd experience. As we all are with our new show of Neon Bloodbath, I, I, I, last week I did not do any intros whatsoever because I just had to dive into this thing.

Um, this week I'll do intros. I'm not sure, should I do nicknames? I can do nicknames. Yeah, what we'll do some nicknames, why not, right?

Um, Matt, Zombie Dog, Richter Belmont, Dikes. Who's Richter Belmont? Uh, Drac, uh, Tasslevania. Oh, okay.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're going for drama plays. Let me do that though for what we're doing in the shadows. Well, who is a vampire hunter?

Who'd be fair? There we go. So welcome to binge buddies, Neon Bloodbath, and you always always bring dressed with me as Matt, Zombie Dog, Umun Dikes. Umun is in the Egyptian...

No. Umun is a character from Twilight. I, I was like, oh fuck you. We also have Joel Dimitri.

Dimitri, Dimitri do it. It's a bit of something. It could be his name. It could.

But it's another Twilight Vampire. I'm in some Twilight page buddies, followed by Fifty Shades of Grey. I've thought about it. I have thought about it.

But I've seen all the Twilight movies because we did a special double episode way back when in the ATH days and I'm not doing it again. Those movies suck. I'd rather walk on Legos for a year than watch any of those films. Have you ever seen those Lego challenges where these people can do backflips and do backflips and land on the pile of Legos and they see like you can do it the best?

I'd rather do that. And I can't do a backflip. So I'd still rather do that. So I'd probably just crash my head and break my neck.

Sounds better. I was just thinking that like, if you fail at a backflip, you generally break your neck. Yep. And that sounds better than watching Twilight again.

I just don't think I can do it. Um, I sucks. Sucks real bad. But that doesn't change the fact that I thought of it and maybe, you know, when we finally scrape the bottom of the barrel, we might get around to it.

But it probably one of our worst because we all did be miserable the whole time. It'd probably be the last one too. Yeah. We'd go out on a real whimper.

Well, okay. So we'd have to be scraping the bottom of the barrel so much that we have literally nothing else to talk about. Yeah. And I find it hard to believe that we will run out of series before that happens.

Okay. So we do the Death Wish films before we did twice. I would do Death Wish. I would do Terrifier.

Once Four comes out because I don't like doing trilogy. But like the fourth Terrifier comes out. I'll do those. I can't imagine Joel will have fun with Terrifier.

I don't know why I'm specifically calling out Joel, but I feel like you'd hate it the most. The little I know you're probably not wrong. Like just knowing how you reacted to the first evil dead. I think you would say this is like a masterpiece in the first Terrifier.

I forgot about Joel's or to like hatred for that film. It's perspective, right? Yeah. Like so just knowing that like just imagine that movie with less plot and more gore and you have Terrifier.

Right. And less artistic direction. No artistic direction. What's wrong?

The second one that all comes in play like the second movie is why I like Terrifier movies. The first one is why I don't like Terrifier movies and that opinion holds forever. I love them and I hate them. I will still see them in theaters.

I will regret it. Terrifier. What is it? It's not film.

It's not. Kinda. Yeah. Like there's a sequence where the art in the clown just murders the fuck out of this mom.

The heads are in everything. Then Lopsert the top of her head off. Sorry for anybody listening who has Swedish problems. We don't we're not on TikToks.

We can say this stuff. Lops the top of her head off. Fills it with candy and then goes and opens the door to trick or treaters and holds out the severed head so kids can take candy out of it. I'm like, oh, what a cool ball.

It's like genius. I mean terrible. How awful. I'm not.

Masterclass and unaliving. It is. Four months to Halloween. Interesting.

We're not doing it. I need four movies. I don't do trilogies. I'm not doing that.

I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that. I'm just not doing that. Getting someone cutting their head off and chopping the top of the head off and using.

I said it to ourselves a favor there. I mean, I need it for the next Christmas special. Yeah, that one was getting pretty bleak. I don't know who I cut off.

We will and it's in the news. We'll be in the news. No. International news.

Joel, hear about that in the Quad Cities. I'll hear about it in LA. Everyone will know. I know you'll be like, it was just a matter of time.

I will say our listeners will go up the podcast. I would say like, you know, that's when you monetize. Yeah. Well, man, put me up behind the paywall.

Yeah. Fantastic. We get Patreon and get one of those. Great for prison.

No. No. We don't condone anything that does. Anyhow, I don't condone anything I do.

So here we are. Episode two of Tokyo vampire hotel. This one picks up right where, no, it doesn't take up anywhere near anything else. I'm not going to say what.

I'm not going to say what version did you watch? Because the version I watched, like it turns into something else totally. Like, it's entirely drama. Yep.

So when you finished episode one, is this what you expected out of episode two? No. No, I mean, that's the slightest. When did it, when did it click what you were watching?

I first like, I was first like, wait, hang on a minute. Is there something gone wrong with this stream? Like, am I watching? So it took a minute.

Okay. Because we didn't have any opening credits. No, no, no. It just starts cold and it's like, here's this little kid and like, her parents are not her parents.

Like, she's kind of adopted, but also kind of not. And her parents were there. They were footers. And when I was like, oh, no, I think this is right.

Yeah. And they were sort of in a slum like place of living before they did the trade. So they kind of upgraded their circumstances too. The whole part is like, over and pay you millions of lots and lots of money.

Lots and lots of money. If you let us do this, it's changed with this child. And it's like the vibe of this episode is instantly different. But also still very intriguing.

Like the, like, I would have watched a movie based on this episode of people being forced to take care of this like demonish child that they don't know is a demon, but they're also kind of like a little little. Afraid of it, but also very afraid of the people who are like paying them to do this. And like that conversation where they convince the parents, if you will, to take it is so wild. Like now that we're helping out, pure trash like you, you're going to do what we say.

It's out. What I like as well is like, clearly they're not the only ones because there is the conversation as well. The other between the, the, the, the parents where they parents where they're talking about one of the other ones ran off with like someone or something like that. So now she's now she's got a new dad and they're going to find this, this other dad and like, basically brutally murdering from the sounds of it.

Or something like it's, it's crazy. Like it is, it's so cool. Like this idea of like, oh, you know, like, you know, I make forcing people to not even forcing just basically saying, if you do this, we'll give you a shitload of money. But there are some rules like even after like the specific food that they have to have on the specific day as well.

Like, and, and I like. It's really strict rules. Yeah. And if you look at like the sort of things it's like, it's a lot of high iron content food.

But like the, the sort of like steak at the very end is like, it's kind of like the sort of nail in the idea of like, oh, this is, this is just a lot of iron. Which I got to say, like there are moments in this because like, I don't speak Japanese at all. Like I've listened a lot of watch a lot of anime. So I've heard a lot of Japanese and I like, you know, but I don't speak it.

So when I hear the words in Japanese, like the same as English, I was kind of like, oh, that's kind of fun. And like, sort of like steak. I don't know that one. It's like one of my, my partner when she watches like stuff, because she's German.

So she'll watch like, um, German comedy shows. Like, like, that's hilarious. Well, there's like, there's like, there's like, there's a version of like the daily show. So I think of that.

But like, every now and again, I'll just be sitting there and she's like, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, YouTube, whatever, whatever. Facebook. Like, I know that one. I know that one.

I understand that. Um, but yeah, I just, I really enjoy, enjoy the strong work, but I'm very intrigued by all of this because you have like that. Here's the, here's the rules. You know this.

And now that we've decided to help out human garbage like you, uh, don't betray us. The only thing about betraying us and the very next scene, they're both betraying them. Like right out of the game, like you need to be invincible parents for this little girl. And she's on the bench with some dude that she wants to run away with.

And he's on the bench with all these women. He's like, check out how much money I have. I'm like instantly fucking it up. That show of him on the bench with the two women is so good as well.

He's like, Oh, how much money you're going to have, baby? Yeah. It's so fucking funny. And I just love that.

We all run away together and like they're both smart enough to know like, Oh, no, I can't do that. Nope. Nope. Nope.

And then I'll happen to the other ones. Like good Lord. No, no, no, no. Like I'll come talk to you all for it with you, but you got to wait 10 years for me.

And he's like, I'm not waiting 10 years for you. Like 10 years. No, she's like, you don't probably wait 10 years for me. I'm like, yes, I do.

Yeah. I sure do. No, no, I'm not doing that. And that's a long time.

I'm like, 10 years ago, I didn't know you guys. 10 years ago, I wasn't a dad. Like 10 years. 10 years is like a fifth of your life, Matt.

Oh shit. You know, Matt's going to die. I can repalm. So the internet.

Okay. So that's all right. I'm already over 50 years old. So, you know, I consider the man.

No, you weren't. Wait, then I don't tell you I was born in 16. No, you weren't. Look, you I don't think you're older than me.

I'm quiet. Oh, there you go. I'm pretty sure I'm the oldest person's podcast. Just my graying beard.

I mean, I just shave. So I said, doing that. Yeah, I I did cut like three inches off of this thing. It was getting pretty gnarly there.

It is even beard, Brian. Thank you. He did a good job. I didn't do this.

I love that. I live in a way of becoming a diet purple or something. I mean, I do dye my hair purple once a year. The beard I'm just too chicken to do.

It's so white, I don't think it ever let go of the color. I think it's going to be purple forever. It's like I go. But it would just be like this chunk because I get over here.

It's not. So no. That's the best bit. Yeah.

All right. So this has been the Vanity Beard podcast. Anyhow, before we get into the second episode, I will play a trailer for another thing. But I do want to stick on this for just a few more minutes because they're we haven't gotten to some of the weird shit yet.

So like when they're in the park and they're betraying their trust immediately, we have this John Wick moment of you find out how important this kid is because when they start deviating, you realize fucking everyone in the park is a vampire. Yeah. And they're all like eyes on you. Like what are you doing?

Right. And it's like, oh shit. I don't have my life anymore. I was like, no, you sure don't because you agreed to do this and you're going to pay a shit load for it.

So you know, just do your job and very like. That's where she bites her as well. She bites the moment on the neck. That's a little bit later.

But yes, that does happen. But we still have like the scene of like they are told like, so now that you guys are now that you guys are parents, you need to get pregnant because she needs a sibling. So get to fucking and like we're going to do it. Yeah, we got it.

And then they get to that bed and he's like, all right. So let's do this. Get the fuck out. No.

Listen, I agree with everything you're saying, lady. Good for you. Those vampires are going to kill you though. Like you're fucked.

You might want to think. I think that comes back round to like, you know, we mentioned about there's going to be cultural stuff we're not going to miss and her problem is, is not like, you know, he's not attractive to her or anything like that. It's the fact that he's what she would still like to use that to generate gamble or something like that. It's literally it's the gambling that's the problem.

And I think it's one of another one of those cultural things that we kind of like we don't fully understand but the series does a good enough job of explaining it. You get it. In a way that you get it. And like, and that's what I love about this.

One of those shows where it doesn't sort of like, it doesn't sort of spell everything out to you but it gives you enough to understand like the reasoning behind you as well. It's like, this is going to be a really shit comparison but it's like you've seen those videos of like when girls are asking this week, like what's the one thing that make a guy on table for you? Pokemon. And it's like, okay, great.

So I can at least like, I can understand like that. So she doesn't want anything to do with someone who's fucking pissing away their life gambling. Like she doesn't even want to touch you because you're a fucking waste. And it's like, okay, great.

And you can kind of piece that together. This guy's a piece of shit. She's might probably not a piece of shit but she's also like not the greatest human in the world. But like we don't have anything else to go on beyond the fact that she took a shitload of money to raise a kid that's on her own.

But you also get that she kind of wants to be a mom but it's tough. Like she has like it's really tough for a common mom because I know her, I'm not her mom. Like you get those sorts of things like that's fascinating. But then she has that moment that we will get to now that Matt was mentioning where she's like, she sees the girl and she's like, she mentions that she cut herself and that she was bleeding.

She's like, oh shit, how much did you bleed? Don't tell me what you bled. You can't tell people that you lost blood and it's like we don't really have the details of why that's a problem but you can get this is a fucking problem. And she's like, so this will be a secret just from you and mom.

And you're like, oh, there's the bridge. Like now we're going to start seeing this relationship and the girl takes a chunk of her mom's neck and the mom runs away and we never see mom again. Because then she's got a new mom. And she's got a new mom.

Like and it's like I love that you see the two bad vampires again. And they can tell they're kind of chill with them which is kind of nice. So they're kind of nice to her and then like, oh yeah, we're back later. It's fine.

But they tell the dad that you need to make it convincing that you ran into this woman and she's going to be your mom now. So he needs a new mom in the park and then we get the scene almost immediately like, can I be your mom and she's like, sure. But shit just keeps getting weird. Like they buy her cat.

I can't. That was tough. That's a while I think. That lasted like a year or two or something.

Yeah, sure. A little bit with new mom and new mom and you know, old dad and then you know, then old dad and then cat goes by by and then we jump a few years in the future and now M is grown up. She's got a dad. We don't know what happened old dad, but he's gone.

I imagine he tried to run away with his two fancy ladies. I don't know. It's called them. But we know the same mom.

We don't know at this point where she talks about having like people like they keep swapping out. So it's like, so we don't know how many how many new dads she's had, but the mom is taken system, but she says it to her boyfriend. I think she said my mom had changed many times. Yeah.

Well, we know it was like, we know she's had at least three moms because she had whatever before the first mom was and then we had the mom that got bit and then we have new moms. So at least three and then dads, we know at least two, but you can guess there's probably more because she does weird shit. Like eat her cat and that's got to be tough to raise. But then now she's starting to like she's trying to get better.

She has her boyfriend. She's starting to feel better about her life. And then shit just starts going wrong. Like you she is sick somehow and we don't really know what's going on She starts having to freak out moments.

She's having a freak out moment in the park Which is not doing very well, and then you see my name. She stops by for a second Are you okay, and then she walks away and oh this is Tokyo vampire hotel? I was concerned watching a different show well, that was the thing as well like I just because Because like the kept corner emos and can I don't I don't think this is actually a manami and then it's because but it's still the same Letter as well, so I can't decide if they were gonna do like a little bit of a always a sentiment army Yes, it is manami, but then like but it wasn't it was totally different character Like I like that sort of like that flip of it. Oh, yeah, and then what's it you seem to me like all clicks?

It's like oh there was three of them. This is one of the three Yeah, and it's oh, okay So we knew that two of them had died But we didn't know how and now we were getting this way how one of them died and it's like when that clicks It's like oh this is kind of interesting So like her blood and the Dracula blood did not mix and now she is basically melting from the inside out And like you had that moment like when she's realizing it then you realize how many people in her life were plants like even her Kind of twins you little boyfriend. Oh, he's just a vampire then it's like oh This one didn't work. Sorry guys.

We put a lot of work into this one didn't pay out. Yeah It's like oof and then she just fucking melts and there's blood everywhere and she dies and then you get smashed at credits Like 20 minutes into our 40 minute episode 22 minutes into the episode is when they're opening credits I've only seen a series have a longer pre-credit sequence once and it was a goliath I think season two where it's like in a 40 minute episode 36 minutes goes by before the opening credits go on And then you get like one scene and then it's end credits. Yeah, it is just it's nuts So now that we're in that's intentional choice Because you go from like I think you go from the first episode being like this thing Then you think oh, it's gonna pick up where it left off But there's no clue until like what 20 minutes in steps of where you see an army. Yeah, like you know as she's correct So there's no real clue that like this is the same show really I mean there's there's a bit something you can tell yeah But the most like you like the first five or ten minutes of a certain you're like is this If I've clicked like is this is this sort of am I streaming the right thing here?

What's going on here and then like to jump into that opening credits after you've had that it's a really I think it's a very very very interesting choice But I think it's a really cool choice with her it also works like because it's like okay So the first half is a backstory and then the second half is still a backstory like this entire episode is just back So we got it back so I'm one of the kids and now we have a backstory on K And it's like from this episode on okay, so okay is my favorite characters god understood And we see we see how K becomes a vampire like so when you watch that first episode you kind of assume oh Okay, is one of like their go-to vampires and then you watch segments. Oh, no, she's still pretty new yeah Like she's fully in so surprised where like finding out that she's not from like the 1600s or something like that Like she's actually just just been turned like in like the last what ten years or something. So it feels like yeah She's pretty new vampire, but she's on a trip to Transylvania never a good idea With her buddy and they're going to like invest in castles and stuff and then they run into a giga, right? Totally different.

Oh, I thought it here. No They're under somebody who's like yeah, this is a really cool thing you can see what they used to be like sacrifices of humans and stuff Like there's like that you see a pile of blood they see a pile of blood come with me the catcombs and they're like yeah, let's do it Mmm-hmm Some weird woman taking some catcombs you're gonna be a vampire or vampire's meal like yeah No, no, no, no, no, no, what do you think what are you thinking? And it's like well they think it's a good idea It's not But I do like the like the kind of reveal of like cuz as they're kind of going through this like this castle You start seeing like some other places that we saw in last week's episode of when Menami was freaking out You're seeing those tunnels now you're seeing K in those tunnels and it's like oh this is starting to connect some dots I like that as well like cuz it's like when you saw those flashbacks or the flashes in the mind You know what is like it's some sort of term of where is that is and then like in this episode you like oh, it's that so like we're getting like We're not just getting back story and character we get back story like the world building is still happening as you're building up characters It's really clever the way that they managed to both build up character back story and build the world up like simultaneously Well, my mommy isn't even I mean part of the interesting thing about this too is that manami As far as you know, she hasn't been there and so yes this weird connected tissue where K is experiencing this stuff directly But manami has some sort of connection to it somehow or if she's able to sort of you know glean that from K Herself, I'm not sure but there's there's a lot of question marks still around that even with the direct reveal of K is been here before Yeah, and you can think of like is is the reason why manami is seeing that from K's because K's in the Dracula clan and she's And she's got Dracula's blood in her is it because of that or is it just because she just saw is manami more sensitive to just vampires thoughts in general So like it's so good the way that it's like it's it's throwing more questions at you whilst answering It's like it's answering like a question of where was this visual thing from we'd like to know the questions like well It's from this other character who's not this person's memory. So you're like wait, I'm gonna make them so how does how are they seeing it?

Like it's so good. It's really good. I'm really I really dig this Yeah, so this feels like a structure problem for me And I only mean I only mean that in terms of if this were a longer than 16 episode arc Is it how long it is it goes longer? That was 10 10 episode arc if I had more time It would make sense to elongate some of this have a couple episodes following manami and then stepping back a little bit and filling in the blanks It feels like everything's kind of compressed in a way because I can see structurally it makes sense, right?

It's you introduce the main character You fill in some of the blanks with the world building and then you drop back in with her now that you know more about this world But it ties into the kind of furious pace of everything happening with this. Oh, yeah So I understand it from a stretcher standpoint, but it is like many things in the show a lot of with lash Oh, yeah, and that will be consistent though You'll get used to it You've had three moms and three dads you'll be fine But it comes in the next episode with it with a neck brace up the total whiplash was so bad. Oh my god I should find somebody to sit in for me next time. Yeah, just do I need to watch?

I'm so sorry. No, you'll be fine But I like that so this is where we start getting a little bit like we finally see the hotel a little bit Like the of the Tokyo vampire hotel We get some actual good vampire action We know we see that like the these are Japanese vampires So they're not interested in Kate because she has boring Japanese blood like I've had that like come on like like your friends from Romania They put her in the lift and like send her down and it's it's sort of like an early thing where Basically because the ones at the top of Corbin's and the Dracula clan like they basically they talk about them as if they're like bottom dwellers Like they'll have it's fine And they just like shove her in there and just send her down and I like it's this idea of Again, it's like it's asking more it's not giving you any answers really but it's kind of like well hang on to the Corbin's holding the Dracula clown Prisoner like at this point kind of what it feels like yeah, and it's that's what the idea like these warring clans But they're not like you know, but are they warring because it looks like one of them has worn an imprisoned the other one So it's like why they just not killed them as well. Is it something to do with the Dracula blood and the nine babies as well? Like yeah, there's so much here like to just kind of like he's one of those I got to know I want to keep watching but no because yeah I need to be able to just talk about these two episodes and not end up going Oh, well, what happens in like six?

This is this is an example of a show I need to have a fresh Retolat enough it has to be within the last day or so before we record this stuff because you're gonna miss so much You're your brains gonna let stuff out like Swiss cheese Well, I'm like Brian asked me the other day like how did the old episode one end? I was like I have to go back to my notes to know exactly how it ended because I was just like I got him in it But how did it end because that's so weird the tonal whip lesson all and like the changes and stuff like that and show that I'm gonna Make which one was which one was one which one was up to because I'm when I looked at like the synopsis of episode one It ends with Yamada in the hotel with stuff that happens like episode four It was the first part of my recollection goes like that's not right Like am I watching the wrong version like I want to make sure I'm all watching like different versions of this thing I don't think there are that many more but you know, I think we're all watching the same one though I think we are not yet for sure. Oh, so we haven't talked about the weird shit in that hotel at all We've talked about some weird shit episode. We have not talked about slicing open a wall and pulling a person out of it true That was surprising This slice the wall okay Wait, that's a full person.

We're now that's a person that's still alive. That's coming out. What the hell is going on? Just the one we just need the one today That's pretty weird and then we talked to the creepy lady on the pillow with a big hole in her crotch Oh, yeah, the day show.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, and then I'm a jayby mama That they have to show a person into That's a little weird little odd Like they feeding the person to the actual building because that's what it's like felt like I'm not gonna answer that question because I don't answer that question because like you know because of the wackiness of it But it's like because it's going just straight down like yeah, but there's also more hands in there so Just moving this person from the wall to the floor There's also a bit of like petting order going on When your loyal servants know you're going to the gaping mama What happened with the oily person the floor? She just left on the floor. Yeah, I think so actually Because they took they took the assistant like wait what no no no like her feet are just like sticking up in the ground like Pretty pretty pretty weird stuff if I'm being honest. I mean despite all the crazy.

It did feel like a left turn. Yeah That was the first time of like weird gore that yeah, yeah, consuming things besides biting. Yep And it gets weirder so you know good to know but I do like so we have like that flash we find out that K got a Inducted or taken into the Dracula clan so now she's part of them and then the episode ends with like well You might have got him like she stands up is all the police officers there and she's like you see you And she jumps on the phones like yeah, he got her he definitely took her the hotel So I guess we gotta get in the hotel and that's kind of where it ends and I'm like it's a good place to end it I've like okay, so now we kind of have kind of the table set like we know who Mami is at least a little bit We know who K is at least a little bit we got a little bit of like okay So the Corvin vampires are fucking weird. We have this kind of crazy amount of guy he works with these girls one of them's kind of a corpse Lady thing one of them appears to be sitting by a gaping maw Don't understand much more being on that the power structure is kind of all over the place I don't really know who's in charge of what But these aren't the questions that I've problems with like they're things I'm excited to get answers for I'm like okay, we've seen enough now that I'm like alright, what's next and It was so weird Just just like let's just like it's the way that she's lit as well like it's very much in shadow So you can't fully see everything like it's just yeah It was very and these are the sort of voice was very much like Like that's like that's very Like that part ET when he's captured and brought to the different you know everybody with the suits on yeah Any details about creepy corpse lady, but I'm still kind of okay with that too like I really need the details like I'm like Alright, let's just see where this goes.

Yeah. Yeah, there are plenty of mysteries that can unravel in their own pace for some of this To your point like I my minor gripe about condensed miss aside. Yes, the table states have been said We have a clear picture of the different warring fashions Maybe less so about who has the privacy or not and we know enough about the main character and some Contacts now to infer a little bit about you know where she's going and why without knowing that the big secret behind what's happened Yeah, we still all we've really got is the world is ending Anami is important and both sides one like and that's kind of where we were the end of last week We're kind of there here too, but we've like we've colored in a lot of like the gray area And I I can't say the show will ever become linear But I think the I think this this pace will continue in kind of a fun way Like I said, I've never pieced me like this before so I'm used to like I'd already be done with it by now So I'm watching it four days ago, so I'd be done with it So I'm kind of excited to see where we go The more you take the time that you saw like you you appreciate and like notice You might miss just what I'm thinking. Yeah, you know you just like you blitz through and it's like everything kind of bleeds into one I mean I know they have a good place a lot So because I could place like you watch over three days so like this is gonna be good I don't really have a quote from this episode It was tough to write them down because it's I can't really take notes and read some titles at the same time I had a good one.

Oh, I really like it's just it's the creepy vampire guy in the suit Please do your best not to betray us because we've helped trash like you live decent lives It's just such a great line and it's the way he says it was just just the tone of it It's just like the words that come out of his mouth does not match like the actual tone because it's just kind of like ah Because it's almost like he's been referential. Yeah, like but he's also like telling them that they're trash and everything It's such a good life. Yeah, it was a good one. I don't really have one so I was gonna go to the favorite moment And mine was clearly pulling the oily person out of the wall I like I will never forget that moment for the first time watching it like I've got this like uber I'm higher clan.

I'm like okay, so they're gonna fight whatever what the fuck like I just think it was just a very good Like I am not prepared for this show moment and I Stuck in my brain. Why are they pulling a woman out of a wall? I mean again? I don't want to spoil things But I will tell you you get to see inside that wall at some point.

It's crazy. I'm excited for you guys going this right I'm getting the the idea of is that everything is crazy in this yep I'm okay with it Joel any favorite moment or quote no It's so much it's hard to pair that any specific that be like a highlight for me. It's all so much Well to wrap this thing up as as we kind of do last week I'm just gonna keep doing this until I run out of him I don't think I'm going around because he's made a shitlet of movies But try to keep shining light on the the I don't want to say brilliant since I know but kind of the brilliant I know I'm playing another one of his trailers because I think it's kind of a fun way to go like this is the dude Who's show we're watching only one TV show. He's mostly made movies I'm not gonna give any free-emble to this one whatsoever.

We're just gonna watch it if I get to the right time. I can't Oh, okay, just wait Nicholas Kays right I like the word trousers. Yeah, just beyond the point where we now stand trousers is the right word. That's fine.

Sounds silly Where Americans pants is underpants This movie is a fucking crazy by the way if you could yes, I'm starting to think the name is not Imagine that although this is very Yeah, it's got a like a neo-western kind of feel to it like that sort of like bladron a mixed with Fistful dollars or something and kind of fall out at the same time. Yeah It's not his best movie. I'll say that much I like a lot of movies more But he tried to do it in American movie, so I thought it was worth showing this trailer I still think you should watch for the last week before this one. It says some of these little movies ever seen Yeah, it sounds very Yeah Keep I'm gonna keep doing this every week.

I'm gonna keep showing on sound okay I can't show trailers from the episodes because I feel like that's boil things I don't want to spoil things, but I still like playing clips So I'm not sure I'm gonna get the episode of the end of the episode But I like having these in here because he's got a lot and I'm gonna keep doing no preamble So you can just enjoy the ride with the rest of us because some of these are gonna get real fucking weird If you couldn't tell by what we've already watched so far by the end of this podcast I gotta get weird. Oh man that one wasn't weird. Can't wait till we watch tag fucking weird ass movie, but I really like tag Yeah We've done it. Thank you everyone for listening.

Hopefully these are on Spotify faster at this time I didn't put any of the jessling one up until the entire show was done But we don't have some reach on Facebook and ask me to do it So please do that if I forget because otherwise I will keep forgetting Anything else anything anyone want to plug don't see Toy Story 5 unless you have a kid kind of wasted time See Supergirl, even though it's also kind of wasted time, but it needs in these more love Toy Story 5 will do fine Supergirl was better than people are saying it is No, not as good as you'd like Now I just I want it tomorrow is is one of the best comic books DC has ever had and it the problem with Supergirl is that it's close enough to That book that we'll never get a proper movie of it, but it's also not as good as that book So it's like it's kind of like BVS if you really want to dark night returns movie We're never gonna get it now because BVS happened and it's so close to dark night returns same deal here It's like that's kind of a bummer, but you know the performance is great. I don't understand the outright hate for it does not Deserve you already that is just it's just I think it's just we're just back to the old DC bastion again Yeah, that's what it is Like this is as good as like the whole like if this is our second movie out This is as good as that one was so like I don't it doesn't deserve that Hey, love was great the action is good the people bashing the script just don't know dick about scripts is where I'm at now Like you can't tell me that Toy Story 5 was a great script and Supergirl wasn't like fuck off That's it for plugs on just bashing movies I've seen recently and this you know this episode coming out like two weeks from now So these are all wildly out of date references Yeah, and you know I'm gonna go watch Canada in the World Cup and when this episode comes out you will know if they're still in the world Cup or not I'm gonna guess no But still in the room for today Yeah anything else no no wonderful bye bye
