Bo French - Running for Texas Railroad Commissioner: Energy Security, American Culture, & the Establishment

Bo French says he grew up in Midland, Texas, in a family tied to the oil and ranching industries, later worked in energy-related business, and took over the family company after his father died. He describes entering politics through a 2016 legislative run, later becoming Tarrant County Republican chair, and says he focused on fundraising, party unity, and boosting turnout in a county he saw as moving left. He says his run for the Texas Railroad Commission was driven by concern over new environmental rules that he believes hurt smaller oil and gas operators and raise costs for consumers and workers. French also discusses his comments on Islam and immigration, his view that newcomers should accept U.S. laws and culture, and says he won despite heavy opposition before facing a left-wing opponent in the general election.
