from Liz Life Guru · host lizlifeguru

Body Dysmorphia Disorder is the excessive focus on one’s appearance or a flaw the patient finds within themselves. This can be something small that others haven’t noticed or seen. To the person with BDD it’s all they can focus on. If body dysmorphia becomes overwhelming the person can become withdrawn and even suicidal. The patient will also carry a lot of anxiety and self esteem issues. BDD affects men and women almost equally. Over 2% of the population suffers from BDD. Today we will focus on the mindset that affects daily life and how to get help. CBT and retraining the mind to process one’s self positively are key. So, join us on another fantastic voyage into the mind!   Psychology Today National Domestic Violence Hotline: 800-799-7233 Suicide Prevention Lifeline: CALL OR TEXT 988 Disaster Distress Helpline: 1-800-985-5990   #LizLifeGuru #BodyDysmorphia #BodyImage #LizReed #PodcastNation #MentalHealth
