Bonus Episode: Interview with Drs. Sigrid Blome-Eberwein and Ludwik Branski at the 50th ABA Annual Meeting

Drs. Blome-Eberwein and Branski join the Burncast to discuss the state of the art of burn reconstruction and scar therapy. They share their experience teaching 2 popular courses at the meeting— a review of burn reconstruction and an introduction to laser therapy for burns. They then discuss their clinical trials centering on the treatment of partial-thickness burns with Suprathel®, a synthetic wound coverage therapy newly available in the US. Dr. Blome-Eberwein also talks about her randomized control trial of CO2 laser fractional scar ablation with and without topical corticosteroids. Finally, Drs. Blome-Eberwein and Branski offer some thoughts on the need for more developed practice guidelines and training standards for postburn reconstruction.
