from The Start of Something New · host Start of Something New Podcast

“Beyond this gate find gardens green and epic worlds to fill your dreams.” Those are the words engraved on the chronos, the entrance to the newest theme park to open in Orlando in over 20 years, and that theme park is Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort. Now if you’ve been listening to this podcast for a while now, heck even from all the way back at the very beginning, then you know that we have been discussing and looking forward to this park opening since it was announced, and we can now proudly say that we have stepped foot in it. So of course now we’ve recorded an entire bonus episode about our trip for you to listen to, or not listen to, whatever you want to do. But this trip recap isn’t just about Epic Universe as we also ventured into the fog again for the first time since 2021 and attended Halloween Horror Nights as well. So you’ll get our honest review of all 10 haunted houses present at this year’s event as well as our thoughts on all the new attractions and entertainment Epic Universe has to offer! This episodes tangents include but are not limited to: Debunking the claim that Universal Orlando is a 4 park resort, The homework we had to do to prepare for HHN this year, Our HHN tips and tricks including how to not almost injury yourself in a haunted house, Art the Clown going Looney Tunes mode, A history of HHN houses set in the Fast and Furious queue, H*rry P*tter and the 5 hour wait, Epic Universe: the theme park of many stairs, places being unfriendly to vegetarians and vegans in 2025, and Dark Universe vs. Classic literature. Thank you to anyone who actually sat down and listened to us yap about theme parks for 2 hours, it’s a big love the two of us have and there was just no way we weren’t going to share our experience at this brand new park with all of y’all.
