Boomer and the Babe w/Rick Rodgers, Retirement Specialist
from The Boomer and The Babe Radio Network · host Deborah Louise Brown
Most people start out working in an entry level job that doesn’t pay much more than minimum wage. By the time they are in their mid 40s, they are approaching their peak earnings years but have little more to show for it. A recent survey by AARP revealed that 80% of baby boomers will have to continue working after age 65 because they can’t afford to retire. What went wrong? The biggest problem is that many people never planned to succeed in the first place. Yogi Berra once said “If you don’t know where you are going, you will wind up somewhere else.” That is true for the millions of people that would like to be financially secure but never planned how to get there. Rick will take us through the stages of life and examine the many small decisions that are needed to achieve big financial success. Starting with the spending disciplines necessary to lead to saving and investing opportunities that can lift an ordinary life out of the slavery of just getting by to one of financial security.
