En: Urban Jungle was cozy. Cs: Stromy a listy se vinuly kolem světlých závěsů a sváteční ozdoby blikaly mezi zelenými větvemi. En: Trees and leaves wound around the bright curtains, and festive decorations twinkled among the green branches. Cs: Vzduch byl plný vůně jehličí a teplého punče. En: The air was filled with the scent of pine needles and warm punch. En: It was such an idyllic place for a Christmas party. Cs: Jakub měl rád tuto atmosféru. En: Jakub loved this atmosphere. En: He was a quiet man, an unassuming botanist who easily got lost in the crowd of his plants. En: He just wished to enjoy the evening with a glass in hand and a smile on his face, without any fuss around him. En: Petra, his friend and the party organizer, came up to him with a beaming smile. Cs: "Tak ráda tě vidím, Jakube! En: "So glad to see you, Jakub! Cs: Jsem tak ráda, že jsi přišel." En: I'm so happy you came." Cs: Jakub jí oplatil úsměv a pokývnul na znamení díků. En: Jakub returned her smile and nodded in thanks. En: Meanwhile, Marek, one of the guests, started spreading rumors: "Hey, I heard we have a famous expert on monkeys here!" Cs: Bez vědomí všech, že mluvili právě o Jakubovi. En: Unbeknownst to everyone, they were talking about Jakub. Cs: Dav začal natáčet krky a hledat onoho znalce. En: The crowd began craning their necks, searching for the expert. Cs: Náhle jedna z hostesek přišla k Jakubovi. En: Suddenly, one of the hostesses came up to Jakub. Cs: "Pane doktore, čas na vaši přednášku!" En: "Doctor, it's time for your lecture!" Cs: A ani se nezeptala víc, už ho vedla ke scéně. En: And without asking more, she was already leading him to the stage. Cs: Jakub znejistěl. En: Jakub was unsure. Cs: Co teď? En: What now? En: He stood on the podium in front of everyone, red as a tomato, and felt his heart beating wildly. Cs: Mikrofon k jeho ústům. En: The microphone was at his mouth. Cs: Nevěděl nic o opicích. En: He knew nothing about monkeys. Cs: Ale nemohl jen stát zticha. En: But he couldn't just stand silently. Cs: Napadlo ho, co skutečně zná. En: It occurred to him what he actually knows. Cs: Rostliny. En: Plants. Cs: Jeho téma. En: His subject. En: "I know I'm here by mistake," he began, a little shyly, "I'm not an expert on monkeys. Cs: Ale můžu vám říct něco zajímavého o rostlinách, které podporují život opic." En: But I can tell you something interesting about the plants that support monkey life." Cs: Lidé utichli a poslouchali. En: People hushed and listened. Cs: Jakub začal mluvit o důležitosti rostlin pro opičí prostředí. En: Jakub started talking about the importance of plants for a monkey's environment. Cs: Jak lilie tvoří stín v pralese, jak půda umožňuje růst banánovníků, jak stromy poskytují domov. En: How lilies create shade in the jungle, how the soil allows banana trees to grow, how trees provide homes. En: With each word, Jakub felt his uncertainty fade away. Cs: Viděl zájem v očích posluchačů. En: He saw interest in the listeners' eyes. Cs: Lidé tleskali a usmívali se, když dokončil svou řeč. En: People clapped and smiled as he finished his talk. Cs: Byl překvapený, cítil se pyšný. En: He was surprised and felt proud. Cs: Po přednášce k němu přišla Petra. En: After the lecture, Petra came up to him. Cs: "Děkuji, Jakube. En: "Thank you, Jakub. Cs: Bylo to úžasné. En: It was amazing. Cs: Příští Vánoce tě chceme znovu jako hosta!" En: We want you again as a guest next Christmas!" En: He realized that his knowledge is valuable. Cs: I když nejsou o opicích, mají hodnotu. En: Even if it's not about monkeys, it has value. En: And he left the party with the thought that overcoming one's limits can be a gift not only for oneself but also for others.
