Welcome to another episode of our podcast, and today we’re talking about Christmas and New Year in Serbia.Nevena (00:21)U Srbiji je Nova godina veći praznik od Božića. Mi u Srbiji više slavimo Novu godinu nego Božić. In Serbia, New Year is a bigger holiday than Christmas. In Serbia we celebrate New Year more than Christmas.Jelena (00:36)Da, i mi u Srbiji prvo slavimo Novu godinu, pa onda Božić, zato što je Božić u Srbiji 6. i 7. januara, a ne 24. i 25. decembra. I za novu godinu mi imamo poklone, imamo jelku, I imamo Deda Mraz. Kažemo da Deda Mraza dolazi za Novu godinu i daje poklone deci. Yes, and in Serbia we celebrate New Year first, and then Christmas, because Christmas in Serbia is on January 6th and 7th, not December 24th and 25th. And for New Year we have gifts, we have a tree, and we have Santa Claus.
