Breaking Free from Addiction - Ep 1 : Prescription drug addiction

In our debut episode, we hosted Dr Mustafa Hazim (formally known as “Pharmustafa”) to inform us about the dependency-to-addiction pipeline that many people fall into, as well as the internal and external predispositions that lead to addictive behaviours. Dr Hazim also addresses socioeconomic issues such as the standardisation of medical treatment and the rising cost of living and their effects on people’s susceptibility to prescription drug exposure and dependency. Hazim also sheds light on how the “medical gaslighting” phenomenon widens the gap between medical practitioners and their patients who may struggle with addiction.
