Republic Developments President & CEO Matt Young talks about our current housing crisis, how 30% of the cost of housing is taxes, and a group calling itself the Coalition Against New-Home Taxes (CANT), and includes Republic, Alterra, Devron, and Forum, that have focused on these taxes and pledged that any tax decreases would be passed on to buyers through lower prices. Matt says: It kind of started with myself and a consultant that I work with having a chat early in January. So, we thought trying to do something to target governments [and get them] to pay attention to those taxes, look at reforms around those taxes, would be an interesting idea...Brian closes the show with his own thoughts on the housing crisis.
