Brian interviews Trevor Melanson. Trevor is the communications director of Clean Energy Canada, a think tank at Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Dialogue. A former journalist, Trevor previously held editor roles at Canadian Business, Vancouver, and BCBusiness magazines. He talks about the carbon tax and the politics and communication issues around it. Trevor wrote: “Canada’s price on pollution is an effective, elegantly designed climate policy that maximizes emissions reductions while minimizing potential downsides. Well, all except the biggest downside of all. The carbon price, or carbon tax, depending on where you sit in Parliament was always going to be challenging to communicate and was always going to have political enemies.”
