It also affects the nervous system. When the person who was supposed to be safe becomes the source of danger, the body begins scanning for threat. It listens for tone, watches facial expressions, notices hesitations, tracks phones and closed doors, and responds to anything that feels connected to the old wound.This video helps explain why trauma is not drama. A trauma response is not a performance. It is the nervous system responding to remembered danger.
