Bryan Kohberger Sank His Own Case With THIS Line

from Hidden Killers Live! Daily True Crime News & Breakdowns · host Hidden Killers Podcast

Bryan Kohberger sank his own case with one line, and he said it under oath more than a year before he tried to take it all back. Tonight we go through exactly how that happened. He stood in an Idaho courtroom and pleaded guilty four times to the University of Idaho student murders. Thirteen months later, representing himself, he filed a handwritten petition for post-conviction relief in Ada County, telling the New York Times his actual innocence is his truth. Before it ever reached a judge, he called a reporter from a prison phone, and what he said in that call put the families of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin in a position they'd been promised, in writing, could never happen. His petition claims his defense team withheld evidence and painted a distorted picture of what death row and a life sentence would look like, and that threats and false promises produced the original confession. He's also said he'd welcome the death penalty being sought again at a new trial. But the line that matters most came the day he pleaded. When the judge asked him directly, under oath, whether he was pleading guilty because he was guilty, he said yes. The Goncalves family responded within hours, taking the petition apart point by point. There was never a trial, never a cross-examination, and no motive was ever entered on the record. We walk through what he filed and why it may not hold up. None of it gets resolved tonight. It goes to a judge in Ada County from here. Links Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
