The Subhuman by The Bastard Sons of Dennis with Dave Danielli. Album: Cruelty to Blues The Subhuman is a cover song. Originally released by Blue Öyster Cult on their 1974 Secret Treaties album. Inspiration drawn from the versions on the 1974 Secret Treaties studio album, and the 1975 live BOC album On Your Feet Or On Your Knees. The Subhuman was one of The Bastard Sons of Dennis's most progressive songs. Chuck would tune his guitar to a drop-D for the interpretation. This particular version owes much to the wonderful live On Your Feet Or On Your Knees recording, where guitarist Donald Roeser demonstrates his absolute mastery of the melodic minor. Within this cover there is a lot of guitar soloing. It is all highly definitive and would be performed more-or-less identically by The Bastard Sons of Dennis every time. Both Chuck and Derek take solos. Performers: Derek Broom - vocals, guitar Chuck Palmer - guitar Dave Danielli - bass Recorded and engineered at Wud Records Studio One, exeter uk.
