Building on Solid Foundations - Nick Jones - 23rd August 2026
from Elim Church Glossop Hosted by elimglossop
We all build something with our lives, but what are we actually building on? Jesus’ parable of the wise and foolish builders gives us a powerful picture of two people who hear the same words and face the same storm, yet experience very different outcomes. In this message, we explore what it means not simply to hear Jesus’ teaching, but to put it into practice — and what happens when we choose to build our lives on something other than the solid foundation He offers. From the foundations of the Burj Khalifa to the foundations of our own faith, this sermon challenges us to look beneath the surface of our lives. What are the things we are building, who are we building alongside, and where might some remodelling be needed? Because storms will come to every one of us — but when they do, will the foundations we have built upon be strong enough to stand?
