This week Glynn explores the dramatic contrast between the crowds who welcomed Jesus on Palm Sunday, and those who cried “crucify him” just days later. It’s a searching look at the danger of shallow faith, the pressure to follow the crowd, and the personal call of Jesus that comes to each of us individually. This sermon challenges us to ask: Are we just going along with the crowd, or are we willing to stand apart—and go deeper—in our faith?

This week Kevin shares on generosity from the story of Jesus’ anointing in Mark 14. This act of extravagant generosity raises uncomfortable questions—about money, priorities, and what really matters. Why would something so valuable be “wasted”? And what does Jesus’ response reveal about His heart? As the story unfolds, we’re invited to see generosity in a completely different light—not as obligation, but as something deeper, more personal, and more costly than we might expect. This talk will challenge how you think about giving, devotion, and what it means to truly respond to who Jesus is.

Why moving towards God will offend you - and why that's actually really good news. Often we speak about the rewards of finding God, but in 2 Kings 5 Naaman shows us the other side of the coin. That the journey to find God can be difficult, disorientating, yet deeply transformative.

Why did the early church share their possessions so freely? Acts 4 describes a community where “there were no needy persons among them.” But this wasn’t forced generosity or economic idealism. Something deeper had happened. In this message we explore how God’s grace transforms the human heart, freeing people from the need to cling to possessions. When grace reshapes a community, generosity flows naturally—and people are able to both give and receive without shame.

This week Glynn shares with us from John chapter 10, where Jesus declares; I am the good shepherd.    Glynn unpacks the enormous significance of this identity statement. We see that Jesus really is the Son of God; fulfilling the prophesies of David, Isaiah and Ezekiel. That He knows us completely and yet He loves us enough to lay down His life for us.    Finally, an encouragement to be smart sheep; to stay close to the Shepherd and keep the gates locked.    We hope you are blessed by this message. In Acts chapter 4, two ordinary men stand before powerful leaders — and somehow, they’re the freest people in the room. Why does their courage create wonder in some… and resistance in others? This episode explores boldness, surrender, and the quiet cost of embracing truth.

One of the big fears around religion is the idea that people who believe they have the truth can become prideful, divisive and even oppressive.  Tim explores Acts 4, the nature of truth claims in a diverse society, and how the truth of Christ might bring good news.

A husband and wife in a supermarket. A tired man sitting by a well. A conversation that wasn’t supposed to happen. Today, Mark Greenwood speaks to us on how ordinary interactions can carry extraordinary weight. Why do friendships fade so quickly? What happens when we slow down long enough to really notice people? And why might being yourself matter more than saying the right thing?

Kevin continues our series, For the One, speaking into one of Jesus' most famous parables - The Prodigal Son from Luke 15. Revisiting a story we think we already know, we discover it’s not really about rebellion or rule-keeping, but the posture of the heart. Set in a moment of tension between the shamed and the self-righteous, Jesus tells a story that unsettles both. It’s an invitation to look again at how we see God, others… and ourselves. And to ask one quiet but confronting question: is my heart aligned with the Father’s?

If repentance feels like a hostile word, you’re not alone. But what if it’s actually the kindest invitation God ever gives? What if it’s not condemnation but invitation—to enter into a life free from shame and full of goodness. As we explore Acts 3, we’ll discover a miracle that reveals who Jesus is, exposes the ways we turn from God, and invites us into the beauty and power of a repentant life.

Stick with it, it clears up soon enough 👍.   Speaking at our baptism service, Tim looks at the parable of the lost sheep from Luke 15.   The stage is set with both “sinners” and religious leaders. Who is Jesus sitting with? We are told that ‘this man welcomes sinners, and eats with them,’ which angers the religious leaders of the day.    Tim shows us that to gather around Jesus we need to embrace:   Radical honesty about who we are.    A radical welcome that we can be loved as we are.   Radical dependency, that we can’t do this in our own strength.   We hope you are blessed by this message. There is a deep longing in the human spirit to be seen and known.   Looking at the encounter in Acts 3 between Peter and the lame man at the beautiful gate we will see that Peter has the eyes, the power and the heart of Christ.    He really sees the outcast, heals him and completely restores him.    Peter is a witness to Christ but so is the lame man. As Jesus’ followers, being a witness or sharing our faith can seem like a daunting task. Perhaps we need only to see Him and be seen by Him a little longer. 

A new hope At the beginning of a new year we all have dreams, aspirations and new hopes. Hope is meant to be a good thing, right? But what if some hopes are a trap and harm us? How is human hope different to biblical hope? Where is God in all our hopes?   Listen to explore why where we place our hope really matters.

This week we were joined by Elliot Sharp. Elliot grew up in Huddersfield but was called by God to serve the people of Durres in Albania. During his latest trip back to the UK, God highlighted Glossop to him and we're very glad he did!  Elliot carries the compassion of God in both a gentle and powerful way and speaks to us today from Psalm 103:8-12. It is the human condition to forget, to forget all the good things we have been blessed with. Elliot brings to us a simple but profound reminder of God's love and mercy for each and every one of us!

Tim finishes off our consecrated life series with a message on consecrated politics. What does it mean for our politics to be set apart for God? In Luke 20, some religious leaders try to trap Jesus with a politically loaded question about taxes. Jesus' answer not only amazed those listening at the time, but speaks to us today about the place politics should have for His followers... "Give to Caesar what belongs to him. But everything that belongs to God must be given to God." Yes, give Caesar that which bears his image but, as His image bearers, we are to give God everything! As Jesus' followers we shouldn't be divided by our political allegiance, we should be united by the gospel of Jesus Christ.  

Tim continues with our consecrated life series by looking at our work. Our work is to be set apart for God. So often, as Jesus' followers we can create a divide between work within the church and work outside it, as if one is more important to God than the other. This is not God's view of work. God is just as interested in Mondays as He is in Sundays.   Christ values your work. He wants to empower your work. Ultimately through His work, it frees us to work whole-heartedly.    

If you’ve ever felt the ache of family wounds—or the fear you might repeat them—this talk is for you. We look straight at how sin and trauma can ripple through generations, without denial or despair. And then we find the shockingly good news: God’s mercy runs deeper than the very worst of our family line. Joel and Sarah continue our series; consecrated church with a message on marriage. What does the Bible say about marriage? What does our culture say about marriage? If we are to be consecrated, set apart for God's plan and purposes, how do we follow Jesus in this area of our lives? Whether we are married or not, as Jesus' followers we are called to be His bride. 

Kevin unpacks Jesus' parable of the sheep and goats from Matthew 25. Jesus' call for us to love the 'least' is a challenging one, but it is a call that He embodied by becoming the least. The creator of the universe, puts on flesh, is born in a stable and humbles himself to the point of death, even death on a cross! When we were hungry - He gave us the Bread of Life When we were thirsty - He gave us Living Water When we were lost - He found us When we were ashamed - He clothed us in His righteousness When we were imprisoned by sin and guilt - He broke our chains and set us free When despair surrounds us - He gives us light and hope When death was surely the end - Jesus made a way out for us  

Jenny serves at Elim’s theological college, Regents and shares some of their heads, hearts and hands vision with us as well as details of the courses of study they offer. Her message is part of our consecrated life series. We believe that every arena of our lives are to be set apart for God. For His glory and for His good. Jenny encourages us to look at singleness from multiple perspectives, not least God’s perspective and our eternal destiny and calling as followers of Jesus Christ.

They hadn't heard it in generations, and it had a profound effect on them.  Glynn unpacks this story and encourages us to rediscover the Bible and get "back on track". To prioritise meeting together and to prioritise reading and studying the Bible. Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword.
