Building Resilience

from Self Improvement

Resilience represents an ability to handle life’s setbacks and is an overall representation of adaptability. People who remain calm in the face of disaster possess strong resilience. “You have a right to your actions, but never to your actions’ fruits.” — Bhagavad Gita “Without commitment you’ll never start. Without consistency you’ll never finish.” — Denzel Washington “Resilience is accepting your new reality, even if it’s less good than the one you had before.” — Elizabeth Edwards “Resilience is the maintenance of high levels of positive affect and well-being in the face of adversity. It is not that resilient individuals never experience negative affect, but rather that the negative affect does not persist.” — Richard Davidson “The person who is not disturbed by happiness and distress and is steady in both is certainly eligible for liberation.” — Bhagavad Gita Building resilience refers to the process of developing the ability to cope with and rebound from life’s challenges and setbacks. It involves: Cultivating coping strategies and effective skills to handle stress and adversity. Fostering positive relationships and a strong support network to enhance emotional regulation and adaptability. Practicing self-care and maintaining a healthy mindset to improve overall life satisfaction. Emphasizing connection, wellness, and meaning in life to empower oneself to withstand difficult experiences. Overall, building resilience is about enhancing one’s capacity to adapt and thrive despite challenges. Resilience is not a born quality to gain by everyone. We should thrive and cultivate the habit of learning and improving on our own. The skills are to be developed gradually one by one through our own effort and ability by cultivating good habits. It gives space to plan well and execute better and the best. If we are resilient setbacks will not break they teach and guide to support us. They create an opportunity for growth and development. Self care is a tool to respond hardships with kindness to set an example to others. It gives rest when required. Seeking support and guidance is an art. When our intentions are good people will come forward to extend their help in all respects at all times on all occasions. Kindness is the way of living. Building resilience is caring others.
