"bullets"-Comedy Term for -"Premise"-6-5-22

Good evening listeners, In this  evening's episode, we discuss the term "bullet" as it applies to stand up comedy. And what it is..........is basically the word simple, or simple premise, or just a premise. Whatever, it is a one line set up, to which is to be followed  up by what is called the "punch line" When I was a telemarketer decades ago, I remember some prospects (usually older men), interrupt my "canned script" to  say to me."yeah, so what is the punchline"?  meaning, cut through all the  B.S. and just give me the bottom line. And so I say, practice makes perfect, in little steps if being a comedian is what you aspire to achieve. Regardless I say, Thank  you for listening.
