Doing too much in business will turn the right people off. If you are a business owner and you want to employ people. The first thing is to know that people do not think as you do. Also, it is not their company (unless you give them stocks) so they are not going to do things as you do. Creating an equal-opportunity workforce, also means allowing people to be themselves. It is easy to spot today a toxic work culture, and the first way is a bunch of rules. Lots of rules that people have to follow, followed by punishments. You will attract all the wrong people, and this is especially true if you are running an agency, in which people are self-contracted. Self-contractors want to make their money and have no interest in your rule book. You are wasting a lot of time with stupid orientations and policies that contractors are not going to follow.
