«Quand je l’ai composé, je me disais que j’avais envie de danser», explique Calypso Valois à Joseph Ghosn, directeur adjoint de la rédaction Madame Figaro, à propos de son album «Apocalypso». Dans «Conversations», elle évoque son état d’esprit lorsqu’elle a écrit ses nouvelles chansons. «Un peu volontairement, j’ai fait beaucoup de morceaux assez dansants. Après, il est vrai qu’au niveau de l’écriture, j’ai une part plus mélancolique, plus sombre. Donc je me dis que ça contrebalance bien». L’auteure-compositrice-interprète confie avoir puisé son inspiration dans «les années 70», mais aussi «les années 80» et dans «certaines choses des années 90». «Parfois, j’ai l’impression que je ne suis pas née à la bonne époque» affirme-t-elle. «Artistiquement, je trouve qu’il y avait une grande liberté et une esthétique très forte.»À propos de ce décalage qu’elle ressent, Calypso Valois parle de «penchant nostalgique» à l’égard «d’époques qu’elle n’a pas connues», comme le XIXe siècle, qui réunit ses auteurs et compositeurs favoris. «J’aurais aimé vivre au XIXe siècle pour être contemporaine de Chopin, Barbey d’Aurevilly, toutes les personnes que j’admire au plus haut point», développe-t-elle.Au cours de cet entretien, Calypso Valois a également évoqué sa prochaine actualité : elle a composé la bande originale du second long-métrage de Caroline Deruas. «C’était une expérience incroyable (...)
