Can we clear the 'clouds' and be living witnesses of Christ?
from Sunday Homilies with the Redemptorists · host Novena Church
In this Sunday homily, Fr Peter Wee reflects on the transformative power of the Resurrection and the ongoing presence of Christ’s presence in our daily lives. Drawing from the Gospel, he highlights three ways we come to recognise the Lord: through the Scriptures, the breaking of the bread (Eucharist), and the Body of Christ (the Church).Yet recognising Jesus is not always easy. Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we can be clouded by fear, disappointment, and distraction. Fr. Peter reminds us that faith is essential—not just to believe, but to see, hear, and encounter the Lord more deeply. He challenges us not to be content with attending Mass once a week, but to grow in a daily relationship with God. Even a few moments each day in prayer and reflection can help clear the “clouds” within us, allowing us to recognise Christ more clearly. As we grow in faith, we are called not only to encounter Jesus, but to become His witnesses in the world. By looking towards Jesus with the eyes of faith, we can find joy and strength to navigate a broken world.- Sunday Homily by Fr. Peter Wee, C.Ss.R. (19 April 2026)
