Parker opens with what seems like a normal grocery rant, but soon the real mission surfaces: uncovering the “yam can” underworld. Fred pivots to building a business plan for “Yam Co.,” complete with slogans and counterfeit sweet potatoes. Meanwhile, Allan tries to steer the ship away from total anarchy — and fails. Through faux-serious breakdowns of marketing strategy, food fraud and holiday side-dish trauma, the episode holds a mirror up to consumer logic and finds it missing. Recognized as the region’s top local podcast, this three-man team uses their win as permission to go even further off-script — and it pays off. “The Yam Can Scam” is as ridiculous as it is clever, a perfect example of how star-power (and a good local award) doesn’t stop you from being gloriously absurd.
