Can You Hear Me Now?

I was on a coaching call from one of my coaching methodology classes tonight. My partner was a woman I’d never met. Her headset was faulty and our conversation quickly turned into something sounding like a bad cell phone commercial... “can you hear me now?” There was no real connection. When it was her turn to coach me, I shared my big dream and what I’m up to for the next 3 months. she told me my dream sounded “black white and gray” and that I needed to paint it with color. I hit my tongue and didn’t say what I really wanted. The lack of connection and generous listening caused the conversation to stall, but I learned a deep lesson about truly seeing the person in front of you.
