Cancer Gave Me Clarity: Stories from Survivors

Mandy Houghton was totally taken by surprise when diagnosed with cancer at her first routine colonoscopy at age 50. Since then, she’s been on a mission to educate others about routine screenings and knowing your family’s history. Oh, and she’s not afraid to talk about poop or farts nowadays. She has been married 25 years and has three adult children.Kari Moncrief was diagnosed with breast cancer at a routine mammogram right after her 50th birthday. She was an educator for 12 years before moving from Louisiana to Raleigh. Now she works for the non-profit Western Wake Tennis sharing her love of tennis. She has been married to her hubby Jeff for 23 years and they have 2 children, a junior in HS and a sophomore in college. She loves playing tennis, spending time at the family’s mountain home and going on adventures with her family.
