Sometimes we simply don’t have the capacity to meet someone’s needs and vice-versa. When we do the inner work, we begin to see life and others through a clear, more neutral lens. Our perspective is less tinted and tainted by our own wounds, triggers and unmet needs. When we’ve healed our wounds and tended to our triggers and know how to show up for ourselves with acceptance, love and care, we can see things for what they are rather than the story we’ve made up about us, that person, the relationship, life etc. The next step is that we can maybe tap into our natural, innate being that has compassion for ourselves and others. When we do the work we can recognise other people’s capacity. What their ability is and where they’re at on their own journey of growth. When we can see what their capacity is (or isn’t), we stop taking things personal. And when we stop taking things personal, we can let go of the story of the past, or the false story of ourselves that are no longer serving us. Instead, we come from a place of worth, understanding and ultimately, care.
