About 120 degrees south east of Cape Hatteras and roughly 600 miles away lies the tiny island of Bermuda. Many, many boats make the trek from our shores to that small speck in the Atlantic on a regular basis. In this story, Capt. Mike Merritt was actually making the trip back with four crewmembers on the boat he had been running. They weren't but about 100 miles away from Cape Hatteras when something happened and caused them to have to take a much different route than they had planned. What happened exactly?
