Atrocitas huius actus finalis demonstrat quid Seneca in Hippolyti persona maxime spectauerit. Is quoniam Veneris quasi uictima ut apud Euripidem non potuit esse, exemplum fit formae seu uenustatis, quae, cum fortunae subiecta facile peritura sit, inter bona haberi non debeat; quare chorus recte dicit: anceps forma bonum (id est adiaphoron). Sic inde ab initio formositas Hippolyti augetur, quae etiam Phaedram cepit, ex Attica gratia et rigore Amazonio commixta. Vnde in duas partes tragoedia discedit, quarum prima est de Phaedra amante, secunda de forma Hippolyti pereunte. In fine ambae partes felicissime coniunguntur.
