Caroline Kaufman’s Allegations and the Shadow Over Andrew’s 2010 Epstein Trip

Caroline Kaufman said she had been 17 when she was recruited by another teenage girl at a horse show and eventually brought into Jeffrey Epstein’s orbit under the impression that she was pursuing a modeling opportunity. Kaufman alleged that Epstein raped her at his Manhattan townhouse in early December 2010, more than two years after his Florida conviction for sex offenses. She said the assault occurred shortly before Prince Andrew arrived at the property during the same trip in which he was photographed walking with Epstein in Central Park. Kaufman did not accuse Andrew of assaulting her; she said he appeared interested in her until learning that she was 17. Later, however, she alleged that an unidentified guest at a party connected to Andrew led her into a back room and forced her to perform oral sex.Kaufman’s attorney, Spencer Kuvin, said at the time that he had spoken with two witnesses who could place her at the relevant location and time and that he considered her credible. He said Kaufman was preparing to file a lawsuit in New York and was also willing to cooperate with prosecutors investigating Epstein’s alleged co-conspirators. The allegations added another troubling dimension to Andrew’s continued association with Epstein after Epstein’s 2008 conviction, particularly because Andrew had maintained that he stayed at Epstein’s Manhattan home in 2010 only to end their friendship in person. Kaufman’s account did not allege wrongdoing by Andrew himself, but it placed another alleged sexual assault inside Epstein’s townhouse during the period of Andrew’s highly scrutinized visit and further challenged the sanitized picture of what was occurring around Epstein even after he had already been convicted as a sex offender.to contact me:[email protected]
