Court: United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit Filed: 2026-06-17 The fourth-circuit denied Lamar Prilliman’s petition for a writ of mandamus seeking to compel the district court to act on his 28 U.S.C. § 2241 habeas corpus petition and associated motion for immediate release. The court determined that the petition was moot because the district court had already entered an order on June 8, 2026, granting in part and denying in part the underlying § 2241 petition while also denying the motion to expedite proceedings. Consequently, no relief is granted, and the petition for mandamus is dismissed as there is no longer a live controversy requiring judicial intervention.
